Review: Renegades by Marissa Meyer

Prodigies are humans with unusual abilities. The ones with the most extraordinary abilities get the opportunity to join the Renegades, a group of former vigilantes trying to make the city safer. However, the rag-tag group of Anarchists, prodigies work against the Renegades, get in the way of their law enforcement. Nova, aka Nightmare, wants revenge on her uncle, Ace Anarchy, and to fulfill his dream of a world where prodigies have the freedom to do whatever they please. To do this, she must join the Renegades. What Nova doesn't plan on is meeting Adrian, the son of Captain Chromium and the Dread Warden, two of the Council Members. Will she be able to succeed in ending the Renegades? Or will her alliances shift, causing harm to those around her?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Marissa Meyer has a unique way of taking stories we all know (in this case, it's superhero stories) and twisting them in a way we have never seen before. With that knowledge, I am very excited to read the rest of this series. I really enjoyed the Lunar Chronicles, so I have high hopes for the trilogy. I also loved that this story is partially from the perspective of the "villain," and that Nova is a girl. I don't normally see characters like her in a lot of books. The idea of the prodigies and the government that they have built is intriguing to me. I can't wait to see how all of this plays out!
