Review: King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo

Nikolai Lansov is a boy king, a war hero, and a prince with a demon inside him. He has always had a gift for the impossible. Make that the improbable. Ravka doesn't need to know what happened during the civil war, and Nikolai hopes they never find out. Yet every day, he feels the darkness inside him growing stronger. Zoya Nazyalensky has devoted her life to the protection and training of the Grisha. Despite how strong they are, she knows that they won't survive without Ravka, and Ravka won't survive a weak King. So she serves her king and her country, all while keeping the Grisha safe. But what will she do when new enemies keep sprouting like weeds? Far up north in Fjerda, Nina Zenik fights her own battles in a country that would like to see her burn at the stake. Burdened by her powers, she must face her past if she wants to face the dangers that await her. A king, a general, a spy. Can they navigate the boundaries of small science and prejudice all while keeping secrets safe? Or are some secrets not meant to stay safe?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wow. I'm convinced that anything by Leigh Bardugo must be great because this was yet another amazing story. I loved how there are hints to the previous series, but it is still entirely new. All of the characters have such great character development. The writing is phenomenal. Is there anything Leigh can't do? The plot is incredibly well planned and well-executed. And the plot twists?! I was gasping. I highly recommend this duology to anyone who loves the Grishaverse. And if you haven't already read the Grishaverse, then you need to
