October Recap

Jo and Laurie by Melissa De La Cruz and Margaret Stohl

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love Little Women, and this story "perfected" what bugged me about the story for so long!

Pride by Ibi Zoboi

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I also love Pride and Prejudice, and I love retellings, so naturally I had to pick up this book! Plus, it has awesome black representation!

Meet Cute Diary by Emery Lee

⭐️⭐️⭐️

Don't get me wrong, this was a good book with some awesome representation, it was just a little too fluffy for my liking.

Lost in the Never Woods by Aidan Thomas

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved this book so much! If you are looking for a twisty Peter Pan retelling, you need to pick up this book! (Shameless plug, I have a video book review of this on my TikTok and a pretty funny story to go along with it)

The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson

⭐️⭐️⭐️

I think this first trilogy in this work may end up being like what Shadow and Bone is to the Grishaverse. It was ok, but I didn't really understand the need for the love triangle.

The Beautiful by Reneé Ahdieh

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I don't normally like vampire stories, but the NovelBound podcast convinced me to give this one a try, and it did not disappoint! I highly recommend this author!

The Four Winds by Kristin Hanna

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This one was bordering on a 3 star read, but I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. If you like historical fiction and learning about U.S. history, then pick this one up, but if you don't, you could definitely skip this one.

Love from A to Z by S.K. Ali

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I don't think I have related so hard to a book than I did with this one. I absolutely adored this book and everything about it! I highly recommend!

Always Never Yours by Austin Siegemund-Broka and Emily Wibberley

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I must have been on a retelling/romance track this month, because I loved this one too! I'm not normally one for these types of stories, but this book was very relatable and overall fantastic!
